Outdoor line lasers can be used much the same as a rotating laser for horizontal levelling, simply level up and use the electronic receiver to level off. Where outdoor line lasers excel is in site layout and site squaring, these lasers have multiple verticals line set up 90° to each other and a plumb dot down marking the conjunction of these lines. This allows very quick and accurate site squaring and layout to be performed without the need to work out 5-4-3 triangles. The other advantage of line lasers is that they also work very well indoors for all types of installation jobs that need horizontal, vertical or plumb alignment so making these laser levels extremely versatile.
