WARRANTY PLEDGE
CMI over the years have provided industry leading warranty and service. We have always used a guideline based on "treat customers the way you would like to be treated" this has now evolved into our "Warranty Pledge".
Our first pledge is that the duration of OUR warranty is fixed, so when we say a particular model has a "two year warranty" it has a "two year warranty". Registration is NOT required and even proof of purchase is not essential although desirable.
Some manufacturers will advertise a long warranty but in the fine print require registration within a few days, if not registered then the warranty reverts to a 12 month warranty only. We do not think this is fair and reasonable and so we do not do this.
Although the duration of OUR warranty is fixed it does not mean that we will charge for warranty problems returned to us just outside the warranty period. Our second pledge is to honour a genuine warranty claim up to 3 months after the warranty period has expired.
Our third pledge is that any signs of superficial damage does NOT automatically invalidate the warranty. Obviously if the damage has caused the fault on the laser then it would be a chargeable repair but if the fault is a genuine warranty issue unrelated to the damage then the repair will be carried out under warranty.
Our fourth pledge is to return warranty repairs as promptly as possible. We know that having to return a laser for repair is inconvenient so we aim to turnaround a warranty repair with 48hrs (2 working days) of receiving it. Sometimes, however, a laser with an intermittent fault may need extended testing to make sure we have made a full repair.
Now for the fine print.
All RedBack Lasers® come with a limited 2 year warranty from date of purchase (Level1Lasers 12 Month warranty, CMI Lasers 12 month or 2 year warranty depending on model), this warranty states that Redback Lasers®, CMI Lasers®, Level1Lasers® will be free from defects in material and manufacture. The warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by or resulting from misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised repair or abnormal use. If the equipment fails under the warranty period or conditions it will need to be returned either to the place of purchase or to RedBack Lasers®, CMI Lasers®, Level1Lasers® direct together with proof of purchase (items can be returned without proof of purchased where age of unit can be estimated) for replacement or repair. Any lasers or levels returned that do not fulfil warranty criteria will be quoted for repair.
We ensures that every RedBack Laser level leaving our warehouse is calibrated within tolerance and should not with normal use go out of tolerance. We recommend that you check your equipment for calibration from time to time as units may go out of calibration with excessive vibration or after drops or knocks. Calibration is not covered by warranty, however, we provide a once off free calibration check for any Redback or CMI Laser units that may need re-calibration during the warranty period. Note that this offer is invalid if the unit shows signs of accidental damage, unauthorised repair or abnormal use. Also note that when returning the unit to us for free calibration the customer is liable for freight, we will arrange and cover return freight. Any subsequent need to be re-calibrated will attract a service charge.
RedBack Lasers®, Level1Lasers® and CMI Lasers® warranty obligation is limited to repair or replacement of faulty products falling within the warranty criteria and does NOT include cost or hiring replacement equipment during the time taken to remedy the warranty or loss of earnings during this period. RedBack Lasers®, CMI Lasers® and Level1Lasers® excepts no responsibility for any inaccurate work carried out by the user, it is the users responsibility to maintain good working practices and regularly test their tools for accuracy.
